Noted as being the best independent coffee shop in Colchester, we used Union Hand Roasted Coffee’s fair and direct trade coffee. After rigorous cuppings we decided their tried and tested direct trade blends are not only delicious, but also in keeping with our view that coffee should be enjoyed by everyone from the fields to the cup.

Our chosen blends were Revelation and Foundation.

Revelation is a complex mix of flavours from red berries with a caramel finish on the tongue. This is our chosen blend for the black coffee. Extracted to perfection, leaves an enduring flavour.

Foundation is a very dark roast and our choice for milk drinks. It has a bold nature that kicks right through the milk and the chocolatey finish lasts along with its treacle and nougat brother flavours.

The Bike Guru was more than just a great café, we also had a workshop next door providing everything from basic repairs to custom builds. Run by the Bike Guru, a fully certified Cytech bike technician, we’ve been providing a friendly and reliable service across Wivenhoe and Colchester since 2009.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist, fancy digging that old bike out of the shed or just want to meet some interesting people and have a chat, we aimed to provide a friendly space to enjoy good coffee, a great atmosphere and a bike repair service tailored to you.
